Binary Confidence s.r.o as a data controller (“We”) is a fast-growing managed security services provider founded by professionals with government and private sector experience in combating security breaches, cyber fraud and cybercrime. The core of the business is to provide our clients with 24/7 remote IT security monitoring, defence and security incident handling, providing cyber security training platforms and vulnerability management. 3. How will we use your information?
We, as a data controller, only collect your personal Information that are necessary to achieve above purposes, unless you manifestly provided us with additional details about you (for example In your message to us). We only require limited personal information to fulfil our legitimate purposes of processing. Personal details will be kept securely and processed only for as long as it is necessary for the purpose of processing.
We do not use your personal information for any automated decision-making nor profiling.
Your email address and personal details will not be shared for any marketing purposes with any other company.
Personal details will be stored within EU. For sending confirmation emails after your registration we use company WebSupport from Slovakia. For processing of emailnewsletters we use third party company MailChimp. Mailchimp may process your email outside of EU but Mailchimp Incorporates the EU’s Standard Contractual Clauses in Data Processing Addendum contract which automatically forms part of Standard Terms of Use and applies to customer data protected by EU laws. Otherwise your data are processed solely within EU, we do engage server hosting provider Websupport for webhosting and server hosting services.
We as a data controller process personal information on our websites for the purposes:
- Register to get an access to the qualification portal for the CTF competition (Guardians competition)
Guardians is a blue-team capture the flag (CTF) online competition, where you can test your skills in Digital Forensics, Incident response and Threat Hunting.
By registering your details on https://www.joinguardians.org/registration/ you receive an access to the qualification portal and you can qualify for the CTF competition. The legal basis for this registration Is your consent. All the mandatory Information you provide us on the registration page are necessary In order to qualify for or for the actual competition; and for us to be able to register you as a contestant. Some Information such as gender, your status and your company or school we collect to be able to provide statistics we need to fulfil contractually for European Commission who supports this event. However, you have to choice not to specify the gender if you prefer not to. We will keep your personal Information only for a period necessary to fulfil the purpose of processing, which Is the Guardians competition. We may keep your email address and contact you about future cybersecurity events, educational workshops, or potential career opportunities at Binary Confidence If you confirmed your Interest In receiving these updates.
On the day of the Guardians event
We would like to inform you that photographs or video recordings can be made and used by our company from the event, even by you as a participant of the event (the persons concerned). The photographs or video recordings may be published on www.guardians.sk, www.joinguardians.org, LinkedIn, Youtube and Facebook as part of the promotion of our company and presentation of the atmosphere of the event. Because for objective reasons, for example because of the large number of participants or because of the large groups of people taken from a distance, it is not possible to obtain your specific consent and the processing is based on our legitimate interest, you have the right, if you do not want to be in these photographs after publication, to object to the processing according to the processing conditions which you obtain according to the above information.
If you disagree with having you as a person photographed or recorded at a given event (we are talking about detail of you or small groups of people from a short distance [posing in front of the lens]), please bring this to the attention of the photographer, who will not record you. If for objective reasons, for example because of the large number of participants in the event or when taking pictures of a large number of people from a greater distance that capture only the atmosphere of the event and do not infringe your good name, dignity or respectability and it is not possible to obtain your consent and the processing is based on our legitimate interest, you have the right to object to such processing.

If we receive your request for information or your message that you intentionally wrote to us on our webpage together with providing your email address, telephone and your name, we have legitimate interest to process your personal information in order to respond back to you with additional or required / requested information about Guardians project and competition. We need your email address or telephone number in order to be able to respond back to you (depending on your preferences how you would like us to contact you back). To be able to follow up on potential additional questions or conversation with you, we will keep your message and its content with your contact details on our systems for period of 12 months after last conversation date with you. We may process additional personal information only if they are included in your message that you wrote to us manifestly and intentionally, subject to the retention period outlined in previous sentence.
You have the right to object to such processing or to ask for your personal information to be deleted earlier by contacting us on our details below.

You provide your email address and tick the consent box in order to receive newsletters from us that can be about Guardians competition, or our services, and updates from Binary Confidence. This Is when you actively tick the box that you want to receive these marketing emails from us. We collect email address in order to be able to send useful articles (Newsletter) to you via email. We process your email address and your name if you supplied these to us based on your consent that you gave us on our website. Any other personal information except your email are not mandatory and we don’t require these from you for this purpose of processing. Personal information are kept confidential in our systems for a period we are in possession of your consent.
You can unsubscribe from useful articles (newsletter) at any time by: clicking on opt-out link in every email we sent you, by contacting us on our details below.
If you call us or email us please state that you are withdrawing your consent for receiving useful articles or newsletters from us.
4. What are your rights?

Exercising your rights is free of charge and we will fulfil your requests within 1 month. If we cannot fulfil your rights, because of our legitimate or legal grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms or to protect rights and freedoms of data subject(s) or if the processing is carried out in reason of important public interest, we will also contact you back within 1 month with this information and explanation of our compelling legitimate grounds.

- Right to erasure – we will erase your personal data if they are no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which we have collected and processed them.
